FAITH - 2

...whosoever shall say unto this mountain..” The “whosoever” is that set of persons who have been able to possess their faith in God. It is those who have fulfilled the first command -“have faith in God”- that can “say unto this mountain…” The second critical issue is the need to identify and acknowledge the particular mountain. My simple definition for a “mountain” is any situation, circumstance or person that tries to divert or displace your faith in God. Mountains are the ways through which God tests or tries our claims of having faith in Him. Not as though He needs the proof for himself, but to show us where our claims truly lie. Mountains, on a positive note, are equally God’s teaching tools to help us learn how to have faith or put our trust in Him. Whatever may be a mountain in your life,  you must first acknowledge that there is indeed a problem/challenge. It is sheer foolishness to see black and say it is white. Wishing away a problem or pretending our challenges do n...

FAITH (1)

"Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea. and shall not doubt in his heart. but shall believe that those thing which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things ye desire, when ye pray, believe that receive them and ye shall have them” Mark 11: 21-23 To understand what faith is, let us look critically at the verses above.. Firstly, Where does faith originates from? ...have faith in God… Faith is of God and from God and so the only place it  can find its true meaning is in God. “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the things whereunto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11) This tell us faith is of God. “Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement in ac...

WHAT IS RIGHTEOUSNESS (PART 2) - Christ: Our Righteousness

Christ was God’s solution to the problem of man’s inability to meet his standard of righteousness. He now gave man his righteousness as a free gift. God’s righteousness can now be attained without man needing to obey any Law but by fulling only one condition. The condition is to believe in whom he had sent to be our righteousness- Jesus Christ. In the real order of God’s dealing with man, this example came before the Law was given but since man does not know that he can never attain unto God’s righteousness by his own efforts, God gave him the requirements (the Law) only so that man can realise this. The righteousness that comes by faith was first accounted to the father of all those who will in the long run enjoy this privilege- Abraham.. “...Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness” (Rom 4:3). “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth. (Rom. 10:4). Now the choice is yours whether you will yet seek the righteousness...

THE GREY AREA

Many believe that there are grey areas between light and darkness, between things of the Spirit and those of the flesh. The area intermediate between two mutually exclusive states where the border between the two is fuzzy, so is the term defined. Every human reasonings of the Spirit-inspired scriptures will always create the grey areas in which we so choose to live by. Many believe that there are some other ways (proffered by some religious groups) through which man may enjoy an eternal ending in the presence of the Divine being. It is the grey area that give room for such declarations and pronouncement of glorious exiting of departed souls who knew not the Way. It is the grey area that makes “anointed” leaders of denominations proclaiming the Way and yet indulge in “secret and shameful deeds,” “maneuvering and manipulating behind the scenes” and “twisting God’s Word to suit themselves.” Nothing but the grey area will make the followers of such leaders explain away such atrocities o...
