SIN,SINS AND THE SINNER (PART2)
In our world today, political enemies today can be political friends tomorrow. And as a saying goes "We break up to make up". There is only one way to put an end to any and all kinds of relationships so that it can never be reestablished: that is death of one of the party involved in the relationship. Death puts to an end to a covenant relationship of marriage. Some rulers have been in the seat of power for years and have kept perpetuating their being in that seat but death will bring an end to their romance with power. Some big business owners who have built their whole life relationships around their businesses can be certain that one day, it will all come to an end by death. The dead has no relationship with the living. Men may seek to relate with the dead, but all such are only manipulations of darkness.
Romans 6:7 says "For when people die, they are set free from the power of sin"
Only death can sets a soul free from it relationship with Mr Sin.
Here is our dilemma : We would love to be free from Mr Sin but none is willing to pay the price.
Here is our foolishness: We seem to always forget that in the long run death is inevitable.
There is the biggest trap of all ages - the continuum between our dilemma and our foolishness called the bondage of the fear of death.
"Since the children, as he calls them, are people of flesh and blood, Jesus himself became like them and shared their human nature. He did this so that through his death, he might destroy the Devil who had the power of death and in this way set free those who were slaves all their lives because of their fear of death." (Heb 2: 14-15)
And here is the good news - "But we do see Jesus, who for a little while was made lower than the angels, so that through God's grace he should die for everyone" (Heb 2:9)
The price we could not pay for our freedom, Jesus paid it. He died for everyone. Hallelujah!
Oh! May I say this once again. Jesus died for you! God made him our Substitute. But one may say, "how has that helped me I'm still going to die all the same." Oh no friends, Jesus death did not just end there, he was raised also for you. His resurrection is our guarantee that death has indeed been conquered. God's answer to death was resurrection. In Christ death now has a new name - Sleep. That is why all those who are now in Christ are said to have fallen into a deep sleep when they leave this world. Twice in the course of his ministry on earth, Jesus referred to those he brought back to life from the dead as been asleep
" Our friend Lazarus sleepeth, but I go that I may awake him out of sleep." (John 11:11)
"Why make ye much ado and weep? the damsel is not dead but sleepeth." (Mark 5:39)
Even now when he had tasted death for you and now is alive forever more. You that is in him have the assurance that you will be awakened to live forever more.
"But the truth is that Christ has been raised from death as the guarantee that those who sleep in death will also be raised." (1 Cor. 15:20 GNB)
