FORGIVENESS (PART 2)

There again in Matthew, in a parable this time,Jesus narrated a story about "a king who decided to check on his servants' accounts. He had just began to do so when one of them was brought in who owed him millions of pounds. The servant did not have enough to pay his debt, so the king ordered him to be sold as a slave, and his wife and his children and all that he had, in order to pay the debt. The servant fell on his knee before the king. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay you everything.' The king felt sorry for him, so he forgave him the debt and let him go. Then the man went out and met one of his fellow-servants who owed him a few pounds. He grabbed him and started choking him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he said.' His fellow-servant fell down and begged him. 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back!' But he refused; instead, he had him thrown into jail until he should pay the debt. When other servants saw what happe...

FORGIVENESS (PART1)

To forgive is to pardon, to waive any negative feeling or desire for punishment. Forgiveness is the readiness to pardon or the act of forgiving or being forgiven. So many passages in the scriptures have shown us that our being forgiven of our wrongs by God is tied up to our forgiving others of the wrongs done to us.. "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"  - Matt 6:14-15. To be able to forgive, one must pray for the grace to forbear. The ability to patiently and politely refrain oneself from doing something. God is merciful because of His long-sufferingness or ability to forbear. And because he is merciful He forgives. "The Lord is longsuffering and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgressions.." - Numbers 14:18.   "Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any; ...

The Ship Of Your Life

John 6:21 - And they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went. Whosoever receive Jesus willingly into the ship of his or her life; be it into your relation-ship workman-ship, fellow-ship, apprentice-ship, court-ship, partner-ship, or friend-ship; no matter how terrible the storm against it, your ship will always immediately find itself in the desired destination. Luke 5:3 - And he entered into one of the ship, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of his ship. And when he had left speaking he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep and let down thy net for a draught. Whosoever will release the ship of his or her life unto Him as a platform to reach the lost and dying generation, he/she will not only receive overflowing blessings here on earth but also in the hereafter.   Be careful to surrender the helm and captainship to Him,...

BELIEVING BEFORE UNDERSTANDING

Salvation is the most misconstrued doctrine in the church circle today in spite of its simplicity. Salvation is simple but man is complex and tends to complicate every matter by his effort to understand the matter. Salvation is first of all a matter to be believed rather than understood. Understanding salvation can only come after you have believed it, not before - the bane of the elite and educated.    "Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards not many were influential; not many were of noble birth." (1 Corinthians 1:26).     Many are becoming believers after having some kind of understanding from what the preacher said. Such will soon fall away unless the order is reversed - believing before understanding. "Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." Mark 10:15 (NIV).

BELIEVE

A careful search through the scripture will reveal to us that the number one condition God gave for any to be saved is to believe This word is used in the New Testament 124 times (KJV). - Luke 8:12 .. lest they should believe and be saved." -Romans 10:9 ...and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised him up from the dead thou shalt be saved. - Romans 1:16 ...For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth. What Does It Mean To Believe? To believe means to accept that (something) is true, especially without proof. It is so amazing that it is in this word that God has kept the key for any man to be saved. Man's freedom from the power of Sin lies in this word. For any man to be delivered from Satan's oppressions, he must believe. What is it that God wants man to accept as true even though he has no absolute proof? John 3:16 says,  For God so loved the world that he gave his only beg...
