THE HEART

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Jeremiah 17:9 KJV

The heart is vital to man’s existence at all levels of his being – spirit, soul and body. Its importance to the lowest level (the body) can give an insight into its importance to the other levels. A little malfunctioning of the physical heart can cause a great health problem to the general systems of the body; how much more a spiritual malfunctioning – a catastrophe.

In the verse above we see the description of the spiritual condition of man’s heart.

Please do not assume in the slightest manner  that this verse has no bearing on you. Oh you sons and daughters of the Most High. If you do, you have yet fallen once again to the deceitfulness of your heart.

Unless we are able to acknowledge this fact no matter how goodly, godly or saintly we have been since we were born or reborn, we are yet under the deceitfulness and the wickedness of the heart.

Note: the verse says ‘The heart is ..., not ‘the heart can be... or is sometimes... ’
The need for you to understand the import of this verse to the entire process of preparation to be stolen cannot be overemphasized.

Bible in Basic English puts it this way -
The heart is a twisted thing, not to be searched out by man: who is able to have knowledge of it?

One point is clear; the condition of the heart should be of great concern to all who look forward to being stolen.

What then is the way out?
The next verse provides the answer -

“I, the Lord...”
Jeremiah 17:10

It is to Him and no other we run to. No one else knows or can understand the intricacies of the matters of the heart.
You may ask, why should I want to bother myself on knowing anything else about my heart or what is in it? It is obviously working fine and I am definitely not a deceitful or wicked person.
If the One who made your heart says, Hey! An error has occurred in that part of you, you’ve got to get it fixed. I know just what to do... all you need do is come over and I’ll fix it free of charge.

So, do avail yourself of this opportunity...

Ezek 36:26 (ASV) It will be easy enough to comprehend and believe that aspect of God giving us a new spirit, since we are usually oblivious to the existence of our spirit. All Have Gone Astray

Isaiah 53:6 - All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way;... God's declaration is clear. He said 'ALL' (meaning everybody) have gone in the wrong direction. He knows we have all gone in the wrong direction, but the biggest issue is whether we have realised that we are heading in the wrong direction. A thousand people will have a thousand ways they are heading because EVERYONE has turned to their own way, which means 1000 wrong ways. We may have hundreds of logical reasons to prove that the way we are heading is right, but have you ever wondered what brought God to this conclusion?  Consider Proverbs 14::12: "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
