Ask... but cut to the chase.

Image
“ Ask, and it shall be given you ...” Matt 7:7 (ASV) “...ye have not, because ye ask not .” James 4:2 (ASV) “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss,..” James 4:3 (ASV) Asking is an expression of a desire or need. If you don’t ask, you won’t have it. You then need to know what exactly you want and go straight to the point because “... your Father knows the things you need before you ask Him.” Matt 6:8 (HCSB) If what you are asking for is what He knows you urgently need, He wastes no time granting your request. He knows the condition of your heart and He is more than willing to fix the problem, but you will have to ask Him for it. Example of ways one may ask - You may want to ask Him to reveal the truth of this scripture to you by exposing the intents and hidden motions of your heart (for the adventurous ones) “ The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth your God is the God of gods, and the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets,...” ...

RUN TO HIM

Image
Yes, that’s all you’ve got to do. How? Where? Well... I won’t prescribe any format for your approach here. You may have what is called a prayer closet, fine ... go there. If you don’t have one and probably don’t even know how to pray, take a few steps in a ‘safe’ direction, kneel stand look up or down, it really doesn’t matter as long as you truly desire in all honesty and earnestness to have the check done and the problem fixed. If you haven’t acknowledged the fact in that verse of your Bible (Jeremiah 17:9) your approach or running to Him will be child’s play. To acknowledge is to admit that something is true. For some, it may take just a minute, for others they may have to read, meditate and dwell long enough to admit this truth. Excuse me! Please check your Bible and see if you’ll find my name as the author of the Book. No? So then, this is no trickery as long as it was your choice to keep one. Study it. It contains the Truth. I don’t think I will be out of context to sa...

THE HEART

Image
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9 KJV The heart is vital to man’s existence at all levels of his being – spirit, soul and body. Its importance to the lowest level (the body) can give an insight into its importance to the other levels. A little malfunctioning of the physical heart can cause a great health problem to the general systems of the body; how much more a spiritual malfunctioning – a catastrophe. In the verse above we see the description of the spiritual condition of man’s heart. Please do not assume in the slightest manner  that this verse has no bearing on you. Oh you sons and daughters of the Most High. If you do, you have yet fallen once again to the deceitfulness of your heart. Unless we are able to acknowledge this fact no matter how goodly, godly or saintly we have been since we were born or reborn, we are yet under the deceitfulness and the wickedness of the heart. Note: the verse says ‘The heart is ....

Standing Firm

“ There will be so much more evil in the world that the love of most believers will grow cold. But the one who remains faithful to the end will be saved .   Matthew 24:12‭-‬13 ERV “...If you do not stand firm in your faith, then you will not stand at all.”.    Isaiah 7:9 HCSB It is not just about standing in the faith or what you believe in, but standing firm. We will have to delve into this issue of standing firm and the contributing factors to one having the ability or inability to stand firm. Are you just standing in the faith, or are you standing firm? Be the judge of that. “If we were properly evaluating ourselves, we would not be judged...” 1 Corinthians 11:31 HCSB

Indelible Quotes

“It is impossible to have a lively hope in another life and yet be deeply immersed in the enjoyment of this.” - Francis Atterbury “He who seldom thinks of heaven is not likely to get there; as the only way to hit the mark is to keep the eye fixed upon it” - Thomas Horne “The vague and tenuous hope that God is too kind to punish the ungodly has become a deadly opiate for the conscience of millions” - A.W Tozer        "No man can keep up with an act or behaviour that is inconsistent with who he is. The mask comes off when the audience is gone "  Yo         Yo : y

Waiting Patiently

I was to meet with a friend by 5pm. I got to the venue in time for the meeting and was waiting for my friend. By 6pm, he had not shown up, and I couldn’t reach him on the phone. He had the solution to a pressing problem of mine, so I had to wait that long. By 6.30pm, I was already getting annoyed, murmuring and muttering and was about to leave when suddenly he appeared... Would you have said I had waited patiently? Yes, I waited from 5pm till the time he came. But waiting patiently? No, I ran out of patience around 6.30pm. If I had probably left before my muttering, I would have said...I waited patiently. As if to let us know the very possibility of a delay and the likelihood of such ‘evil’ thought (of muttering and murmuring) creeping in as a result, Jesus warned... “ But what will happen if that servant is evil and thinks his master will not come back soon? He will begin to beat the other servants, men and women. He will eat and drink until he has had too much. Then the master will ...

Rejoicing in hope

Image
Looking at the ‘why’ one was stolen and ‘what’ we need to have to be stolen, the ultimate virtue and what probably spelt the difference between the two men in the field and women at the mill is HOPE. Simply stated, hope means being expectant. Waiting for what you have not seen, but are very confident that it will come. Nobody hopes for what he sees or has seen. We were saved to have this hope. If we can see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People don’t hope for something they already have. But we are hoping for something we don’t have yet, and we are waiting for it patiently. Romans 8:24‭-‬25 ERV Jesus Christ had severally admonished – “Watch ye...” as regards his second coming. He simply wants us to be expectant .. .And this is what I am telling you now. You must always be ready. You don’t know when the owner of the house will come back. He might come in the afternoon, or at midnight, or in the early morning, or when the sun rises. If you are always ready, he wi...

CAUGHT UNAWARE

Image
The second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, a day of which no human or angelic wisdom can ever know, will no doubt catch us unaware (Matthew 24:36). No problem with being caught unawares. Still, it will be rather pathetic if you are caught unprepared. Two men will be working together in the field. One will be taken, and the other will be left. Two women will be grinding grain with a mill. One will be taken, and the other will be left. Matthew 24:40‭-‬41 ERV The two men in the field were definitely caught unaware. Why will one be taken (stolen) and the other left? The one stolen is obviously of more value to the ‘Abductor’ than the one left. The two women at the grinding mill were partners in trade or members of the same faith or even sisters, yet one was stolen and the other left. Why? Be sure to join in on the next post.

I WANT TO BE STOLEN

Behold, I come as a thief . ..Revelation 16:15a KJV A thief does not announce his coming. And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.   Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. Luke 12:39‭-‬40 KJV He comes for a certain purpose. He does not take everything there is in the house. He takes only the precious things - the gold, silver, and finest wares. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth;... 2 Timothy 2:20 KJV He does not come to stay. As soon as he secures what he wants, he departs. Then we who are alive  and  remain shall be caught up together with them  in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus   we shall always be with the Lord     1 Thessalonians 4:17 KJV The Lord is coming very ...
